3.2 Reagents and materials
All reagents unless otherwise specified, were of analytical grade, water re-distilled water.
3.2.1 ether.
3.2.2 methanol.
3.2.3 n-hexane.
3.2.4 Potassium hydroxide.
3.2.5 Potassium hydroxide - methanol solution. concentration of 4mol/L, weighed 113g of potassium hydroxide was dissolved in 500mL methanol.
3.2.6 Fatty acid methyl ester standards. purity > 99%. Species in Appendix A.
3.2.7 FAME mixed standard stock solution. Weigh accurately a variety of fatty acid methyl ester standards 50.0mg, adding hexane to dissolve, set the volume to
25mL brown volumetric flask, formulated at a concentration of 2.00mg/mL mixed standard stock solution, home refrigerator.
3.2.8 FAME mixed standard working solution. Imbibe standard storage solution 5.0mL, plus normal hexane at 25mL brown capacity
Bottle, formulated at a concentration of 0.400mg/mL working standard solutions, home refrigerator.
3.3 instruments and equipment
3.3.1 Gas chromatograph with hydrogen flame ionization detector.
