1 Scope

This standard specifies the determination of cadmium in toy materials by flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry. This standard applies to paints and similar materials, plastics and similar materials (except polyfluoroplastics), natural or synthetic textiles and paper and cardboard. 3 Method summary

Paints and similar materials in toy materials are digested by concentrated nitric acid wet digestion; concentrated sulfur is used for plastics, textiles, paper and similar materials.
