1 Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the physical properties of palm vine materials.

4 moisture content determination
4.1 Principle
The moisture content of the test piece was expressed by the mass of the moisture contained in the palm vine material test piece and the mass percentage of the total dry test piece.
4.2 Test equipment
4.2.1 Balance, 0.001g.
4.2.2 blast electric heating constant temperature drying oven, temperature range 0 °C ~ 150 °C, temperature control accuracy 2 °C.
4.2.3 Glass dryer, 9L~11L.
4.2.4 Weighing bottles.
4.3 Preparation of test pieces
In the middle of the internode of the palm vine to be measured, the entire cane was taken perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of the cane as a test piece. The height of the test piece is 10mm ±
1mm. No visible defects are allowed on the test piece, and the rattan chips and fragments attached to the test piece should be cleaned by appropriate methods.
4.4 Test methods
4.4.1 The sample after the preparation shall be immediately weighed to the nearest quality, accurate to 0.001g.
4.4.2 Place the test piece in an oven and bake it at a temperature of 103 °C ± 2 °C for 6 h, then weigh it for the first time, then weigh it every 2 h.
The test piece is considered to be fully dry when the absolute value of the ratio of the mass difference to the previous time is less than 0.05%.
4.4.3 Remove the baked test piece from the oven, place it in a weighing bottle in a desiccant glass desiccator, cover the weighing bottle and dry it.
The lid is taken out from the weighing bottle after the sample is cooled to room temperature, and the weighing is accurate to 0.001 g.
4.4.4 Calculation of results
The moisture content of the test piece is calculated according to formula (1) to the nearest 0.1%. The result is recorded in Table A.1 of Appendix A.
