1 Scope
This standard specifies the design principles, classification and design procedures of the forest harvesting engineering equipment system.
This standard applies to the design of forest harvesting engineering equipment systems.

3 Design principles
In addition to following the basic principles laid down in LY/T 1990-2011, the following principles should also be followed.
a) is conducive to improving the utilization of timber resources;
b) Conducive to the protection of forest land, avoiding or reducing soil erosion;
c) It is beneficial to avoid or reduce damage to preserved trees such as young seedlings and young trees.

5 design procedures
5.1 Planning stage
5.1.1 Analysis of equipment system requirements
Equipment system requirements analysis can include.
a) An overview of the forest harvesting project, including.
1) the objectives of the project;
2) Harvesting methods, operating processes and technical requirements;
3) The operation and equipment of the project unit;
4) Project budget estimate.
b) The socio-economic status and ecological environment development plan of the area where the cutting area is located.
