3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Volatile organic compounds volatileorganiccompounds; VOC
Sampling with a sorbent tube (TenaxGC or TenaxTA), non-polar column (polarity index less than 10) for analysis, retention time
A volatile organic compound between n-hexane and n-hexadecane.
3.2
Detection box determinationdevice
A gas sampling device for detecting volatile organic compound (VOC) and formaldehyde emission in a wood-based panel and its products.
3.3
Ventilation rate
The volume of gas supplied to the test chamber per unit time.
3.4
Air exchange rate airexchangerate
In unit time, the volume (ventilation volume) supplied to the test chamber is divided by the volume of the test chamber, expressed as a percentage.
