Size and gap
1 Scope
This standard specifies the size and clearance of the portable chain saw front hand guard and its opening. These dimensions and clearances ensure that the front hand guard is adequate.
Taking advantage of its safety protection function, the front hand guard not only acts as a barrier between the operator's hand and the saw chain, but also acts as a manual saw chain brake.
Drive unit. For chainsaws with a ring-shaped front handle, this standard does not apply to the front handle area on the right side of the upper support bar (viewed from the back).
