3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions defined in YY9706.257-2021 and GB/T 30117.3-2019 apply to this
specification.
3.1 Optical radiation
Electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength range of 100nm~1mm.
[Source. YY9706.257-2021,.201.3.211]
3.2 Intense pulsed light, IPL
Contains one or more incoherent lights with wavelengths ranging from 400nm to 1200nm, which can produce non-visual light in the human body.
It has the characteristics of wide spectrum range and high energy density and is used for treatment, plastic surgery or medical cosmetology.
Note. The pulse length is tens of milliseconds or shorter, and the pulse repetition frequency is usually 2Hz or lower. Strong pulse output is generally no greater than
50J/cm2.
[Source. YY9706.257-2021,.201.3.208; GB/T 30117.3-2019, 3.3, modified]
The wavelength at the short-wavelength edge of the emission spectrum where the intensity of the spectral line is 50%, measured in nanometers (nm).
[Source. YY9706.257-2021,.201.3.219]
3.4 Emission aperture
A hole or window through which optical radiation is emitted.
