1 scope

This standard specifies the selection, code structure and coding method of Chinese island names. This standard is applicable to the identification, management, information processing and data exchange processes of islands in my country's territory and other sea areas under its jurisdiction.

3 Terms and definitions

3.1 A land area that is surrounded by the sea on all sides and emerges from the water at high tide. 3.2 The island where the permanent residence is located in the territory of our country and the sea under its jurisdiction. 3.3 An island that is not a permanent residence in the territory of our country and its jurisdiction. 3.4 Yilian Island Dam (including natural and artificial) and the islands connected to the mainland. 4 Selection of island names and coding

4.1 The name of the island 4.1.1 Only one Chinese name should be selected for each island. 4.1.2 The island names are selected in the following order. a) The name of the island registered by the administrative department; b) National comprehensive survey report on island resources (list of islands); c) The name more frequently used locally. 4.1.3 The name of an unnamed island is composed of three parts. the "unnamed island", the abbreviation letter code of the administrative subordination of the island and the sequence number. Island administration Refer to HY/T 094-2006 for the letter code for abbreviation of membership. 4.2 Code structure This code adopts all-digital code, the code is equal-length 12-digit code, see Figure 1.
