1 Scope
This standard specifies the general regulations, water quality requirements, testing methods, sampling and monitoring frequency for the discharge of concentrated brine from desalination plants.
This standard is applicable to the monitoring and supervision of the quality of concentrated brine discharged from seawater desalination plants.

Desalination
The process of removing salt from seawater and producing fresh water.

The water discharged after treatment by the desalination device has a higher salt content than the raw water.

4 requirements
4.1 General rules
4.1.1 A diffusion device should be installed at the outlet of the desalination concentrated brine to speed up the dilution and diffusion of the concentrated brine.
4.1.2 After the desalination project is completed and put into operation, in the post-environmental impact assessment work, the impact of concentrated brine discharge on the marine environment should be monitored.
