3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
positive load
The air is pressurized on the stone decorative surface to make the sample withstand the positive air pressure difference.
3.2
negative load
The sample is subjected to reverse air pressure difference by applying suction pressure to the stone decorative surface.
3.3
Ultimate load
The air pressure difference (positive or negative) when the stone specimen is damaged or the hanging system fails.
4 Principles
In this test, the stone sample is sealed at one end of the "test chamber" and air is pumped out or injected into the "test chamber" at the required rate to maintain the test pressure.
The positive and negative pressure differences on the sample surface are observed, measured, and recorded to give the deformation and damage conditions of the sample in uniform static air.
