1 Scope
This part of GB/T 9966 specifies the principles, instruments and equipment for the static elastic modulus test of natural stone under uniaxial compression.
Sample preparation, test procedures, test results and test reports.
This section applies to the determination of the compression static elastic modulus of natural stone.

3 Principle
By measuring the longitudinal deformation of the sample under two high and low uniaxial pressures, the compression static elastic modulus of the sample is calculated.
4 Equipment
4.1 Material testing machine. It has a spherical support and satisfies the failure load of the sample within the range of 20% to 90% of the indicated value.
Should exceed ±1%.
4.2 Length deformation measurement system. such as self-induction measuring instrument or strain gauge measuring instrument, the test length range should be at least 10 particle diameters (minimum
50mm) size, the test accuracy should be greater than 0.001mm.
4.3 Blast drying oven. can maintain the temperature at (65 ± 5) ℃.
4.4 Vernier caliper. accuracy above 0.1mm.
4.5 Stopwatch. accuracy 1s.
4.6 Dryer.

5.1 Number of samples
Prepare at least 6 specified samples in the same batch of test samples.
5.2 Specimen size
The sample size is a rectangular parallelepiped of 50mm×50mm×100mm or a cylinder with a diameter of 50mm and a height of 100mm.
