Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules.
This standard replaces GB/T 5894-1986 "mechanical seal terminology."
This standard compared with GB/T 5894-1986, the main technical changes are as follows.
--- Remove the "primary seal" "secondary seal" and other terms (see the 1986 version 2.9, 2.10);
--- Modify the "secondary seal" is defined (see 3.10,1986 Version 2.11);
--- Increased "face to face, back to back, facing the back double mechanical seal" "cartridge mechanical seal", "Flush," "isolation fluid"
"Buffer fluid" and other terms (see 2.26 to 2.28,2.41,4.1,4.12,4.13).
The standard proposed by China Machinery Industry Federation.
This standard by the National Standardization Technical Committee on mechanical seal (SAC/TC491) centralized.
This standard was drafted. Hefei General Machinery Research Institute, Tsinghua University, Hefei General Environmental Control Technology Co., Ltd., Zhejiang
University, Beijing University of Chemical Technology.

This standard replaces the standards previously issued as follows.
--- GB/T 5894-1986.
Mechanical seal Terminology
1 Scope
This standard specifies the mechanical seal and the type of parts, fluid circulation and auxiliary systems, common design, testing and performance terms.
This standard applies to the rotating shaft mechanical seal.
2 types of mechanical seals and terminology
2.1
Mechanical seal mechanicalseal
Seal faceseal
At least one end surface perpendicular to the axis of rotation with a compensation mechanism in fluid pressure and elastic (or magnetic) and the role of secondary seal
Maintaining close relative sliding end surface paste merger constituted a device to prevent fluid leakage.
2.2
Hydrodynamic mechanical seal hydrodynamicmechanicalseal
Seals are designed to specific geometry, using the relative rotation of self-generated hydrodynamic effects of mechanical seals.
2.3
Tangential role in hydrodynamic mechanical seal tangentialactinghydrodynamicmechanicalseal
Can tangential fluid hydrodynamic pressure distribution is formed dynamic pressure type mechanical seal.
2.4
Radially acting hydrodynamic mechanical seal radialactinghydrodynamicmechanicalseal
Proactive role hydrodynamic mechanical seal positiveactinghydrodynamicmechanicalseal
Capable of forming a dynamic pressure type mechanical seal has to resist leaking fluid pressure distribution in the fluid dynamic action in the radial direction.
2.5
Hydrostatic mechanical seal hydrostaticmechanicalseal
Seals designed specific geometry, with an external pressure fluid introduced through the pressure medium itself or the sealing of the sealing interface
Force drops a mechanical seal hydrostatic pressure effects.
2.6
External hydrostatic pressure mechanical seal outsidepressurizedhydrostaticmechanicalseal
Hydrostatic pressure of the fluid introduced into the fluid mechanical seal from the outside.
2.7
Since hydrostatic pressure mechanical seal self-pressurizedhydrostaticmechanicalseal
To be sealed as a fluid medium itself hydrostatic pressure of the fluid mechanical seal.
2.8
Hybrid composite fluid mechanical seal hydrodynamicandhydrostaticmechanicalseal
Flow seal face design specific geometry, both external fluid pressure introduced through the pressure drop produced by the interface seal
Hydrostatic effect body, but also take advantage of the relative rotation of the hydrodynamic effects of mechanical seals themselves.
2.9
Built-in mechanical seal internalymountedmechanicalseal
Stationary ring mounted in a sealed cover (or equivalent sealing cap part) inner side (ie, the side facing the host working chamber) of the mechanical seal.
Tips & Frequently Asked Questions:Question 1: How long will the true-PDF of GB/T 5894-2015_English be delivered?Answer: Upon your order, we will start to translate GB/T 5894-2015_English as soon as possible, and keep you informed of the progress. The lead time is typically 3 ~ 5 working days. The lengthier the document the longer the lead time. Question 2: Can I share the purchased PDF of GB/T 5894-2015_English with my colleagues?Answer: Yes. The purchased PDF of GB/T 5894-2015_English will be deemed to be sold to your employer/organization who actually pays for it, including your colleagues and your employer's intranet. Question 3: Does the price include tax/VAT?Answer: Yes. Our tax invoice, downloaded/delivered in 9 seconds, includes all tax/VAT and complies with 100+ countries' tax regulations (tax exempted in 100+ countries) -- See Avoidance of Double Taxation Agreements (DTAs): List of DTAs signed between Singapore and 100+ countriesQuestion 4: Do you accept my currency other than USD?Answer: Yes. If you need your currency to be printed on the invoice, please write an email to [email protected]. In 2 working-hours, we will create a special link for you to pay in any currencies. Otherwise, follow the normal steps: Add to Cart -- Checkout -- Select your currency to pay. Question 5: Should I purchase the latest version GB/T 5894-2015?Answer: Yes. Unless special scenarios such as technical constraints or academic study, you should always prioritize to purchase the latest version GB/T 5894-2015 even if the enforcement date is in future. Complying with the latest version means that, by default, it also complies with all the earlier versions, technically.
