1 Scope
This document defines the terms and definitions of mechanical seals, specifies the types and main dimensions, identification marks and material codes.
This document applies to mechanical seals for centrifugal pumps and similar rotating machinery.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 5894 apply to this document.
4 Types and main dimensions
4.1 General requirements
Various mechanical seal types can refer to the structures shown in Figures 1 to 6, but should follow the given dimensions.
The example of using an O-ring as an auxiliary sealing ring for a stationary ring, sealing rings of other cross-section types can also be used as auxiliary sealing rings for a stationary ring.
For unspecified dimensional tolerances, please refer to Class F in GB/T 1804-2000.
4.2 Types of single-end mechanical seals
U-type. unbalanced single-end mechanical seal, see Figure 1.
