This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 5709-1997 "Terminology of Textile Nonwovens". This document has the following structural adjustments compared to ISO 9092.2019. --- 3.1 and 3.2 of ISO 9092.2019 correspond to Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 of this document, respectively. 3.1.6 "Papermaking" is adjusted to To Chapter 4, adjust 3.2.3 “Stitching reinforcement” to Chapter 6. 1 Scope

This document defines the definition of nonwoven fabrics, gives the terms and definitions related to the production process and products of nonwoven fabrics, and provides Supplementary terms and definitions used to distinguish nonwovens from other materials. This document applies to all types of nonwovens. Note. For general properties and test terms of textiles, please refer to GB/T 3291 (all parts); for defect terms of nonwoven fabrics, please refer to FZ/T 01153.

3 Basic terminology

3.1 Nonwoven Designed and manufactured to achieve a predetermined level of structural integrity by physical and/or chemical means (not including weaving, knitting or papermaking), in the form of flat A fiber aggregate mainly in the form of a surface.
