This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 5390-2013 "Noise Measurement of Portable Hand-Operated Forestry and Garden Machinery Powered by Internal Combustion Engines". 1 Scope

This document describes how to effectively determine common types of portable, handheld forestry and garden machinery powered by internal combustion engines under standardized conditions. Standards for measuring noise emission characteristics, and for chainsaws, brush cutters, lawnmowers, trimmers, stick pruning saws, hedge trimmers, and garden blowers. Specific requirements for air purifiers/vacuum blowers/backpack sprayers. Noise emission characteristics include A-weighted sound pressure level and A-weighted sound level at the operator's location.
