3 Terms and definitions
There are no terms and definitions that need to be defined in this document.
4 Periodate spectrophotometry (Method 1)
4.1 Principle
The sample is decomposed in a polytetrafluoroethylene beaker with hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, and hydrofluoric acid. Perchloric acid smokes to drive out fluorine and silicon. In a phosphoric acid medium,
The manganese was oxidized to seven valence with periodate, and its absorbance was measured.
4.2 Reagents
Unless otherwise stated, only reagents confirmed to be analytically pure are used in the analysis.
