1 Scope

This document specifies the safety requirements for electric insect zappers.
This document applies to electric insect killers for household and similar purposes with a rated voltage not exceeding 250V.
Appliances not intended for normal household use but which may nevertheless constitute a source of danger to the public, e.g. appliances intended to be used by non-specialists in shops, light industry and on farms.
Equipment used by professionals is also within the scope of this document.
As far as is practical, the common hazards presented by the various appliances covered by this standard are those of all persons in and around the home.
However, in general, this document does not consider.
