This document replaces GB 4706.41-2005 "Safety of portable electric heating tools and similar appliances for household and similar purposes"
Compared with GB 4706.41-2005, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) Added the definition of induction soldering iron (see 3.116);
b) Added safety and test requirements related to induction soldering irons (see 11.3, 11.4, 13.1, 16.1, 19.13);
c) The relevant requirements for electrical clearances, creepage distances and solid insulation have been changed (see 29.3 and 29.3.2, 29.3 of the.2005 edition).

1 Scope
This chapter of GB/T 4706.1-2024 is replaced by the following content.
This document deals with the safety of portable electric heating tools and similar appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 250V.
Appliances not intended for normal household use but which may nevertheless constitute a source of danger to the public, e.g. appliances intended to be used by non-professionals in shops, light industry and on farms.
Apparatus used by electricians are within the scope of this document.
Appliances that are mounted on a bracket for use are also within the scope of this document.
