3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
External insulationexternalinsulation
The exposed surface of the air gap or solid insulation of the equipment exposed to the voltage.
3.2
high altitude area
Areas with an altitude of not less than 1000m.
3.3
According to the difference in dielectric strength between the average atmospheric conditions at the altitude and the standard reference atmospheric conditions during operation, the insulation coordination withstand voltage or discharge
Factor for electrical voltage correction.
3.4
Atmospheric conditions for which the standardized withstand voltage applies.
Note. The standard reference atmospheric conditions are temperature 20°C, pressure 101.3kPa, and absolute humidity 11g/m3.
4 External insulation discharge voltage altitude correction procedure
4.1 Positive conversion
Through altitude correction, the external insulation discharge voltage of power transmission and transformation projects in high altitude areas can be converted to the standard reference atmospheric condition of 0m above sea level
