3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions defined in GB/T 40490 apply to this document.
3.1
Alpine paint alpinelacquer
Lacquer produced by lacquer trees distributed in the middle and high mountains.
3.2
Lowmountainlacquer
Lacquer produced by lacquer trees distributed in low mountains and hilly areas.
3.3
Damuqilacquer
Lacquer collected from the bark layer of large trees in high mountains.
Note. Big wood urushiol has low content of urushiol, high content of gum and laccase, and strong dryness.

Xiaomuqilacquer
Raw lacquer collected from the bark layer of small trees in low mountains and hilly areas.
Note. Small wood lacquer has high content of urushiol, low content of gum and laccase, and poor dryness.
4 Picking and cutting sumac tree selection
4.1 Cutting age
Should meet the following requirements.
a) The diameter at breast height of the wild sumac is more than 15cm;
b) Cultivate large sumac trees from 8 to 10 years old or with a diameter at breast height of more than 10cm;
c) Small trees from 5 to 6 years old.
