1 Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the extraction rate of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film using organic solvents.
This standard applies to PET film.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Extraction rate extractionrate
The percentage of the mass of the solvent extracted from the material and the mass of the material prior to extraction.
Note. The mass of the extracted material can be calculated from the difference in mass before and after the material is extracted.
4 instruments and reagents
4.1 Soxhlet extractor
As shown in Figure 1, it includes. heating source, extraction bottle, extraction tube and condenser tube, and should meet the following requirements.
a) Heating source. the maximum temperature is 250 °C, and the temperature fluctuates ±1 °C after stabilization;
b) Extraction bottle. volume ≥ 1000mL;
c) The size and interface diameter of the extraction and condensing tubes should be matched with the extraction bottle.
