A cryptographic security module embedded in the reader to provide security services for the reader.

Symmetric cryptographic algorithm symmetriccryptographicalgorithm
Encrypt and decrypt cryptographic algorithms that use the same key.

Asymmetric cryptographic algorithm asymmetriccryptographicalgorithm
Public key cryptography algorithm publickeycryptographicalgorithm
Encrypt and decrypt cryptographic algorithms that use different keys. One of the keys (public key) can be made public, and the other key (private key) must be protected.
