5.1 Principles and methods of classification coding
5.1.1 Basic principle. The classification code of textile fiber should meet the requirements of GB/T 7027, satisfying scientific, systematic, extendable and compatible.

5.1.2 Classification method The line classification method is adopted to carry out the textile fiber according to the acquisition method, source, composition, raw material characteristics or processing technology.
Layer refinement.
5.1.3 Textile fiber classification code The textile fiber is divided into four layers and represented by a 6-digit code. The meaning of each layer is as follows.
a) The first layer distinguishes textile fibers according to the method of acquisition, and is represented by a one-digit code indicating a large category of textile fibers;
b) The second layer distinguishes textile fibers by source, expressed in a one-digit code, indicating the middle class of textile fibers;
