Industrial process measurement and control
Fault tolerance performance specification
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms, classifications, technical requirements, test methods, and evaluation reports for industrial process measurement and control instrument misuse and fault tolerance.
This standard is applicable to the evaluation of misuse of fault-tolerant performance of industrial process measurement and control instruments.
Note. Fault tolerance has a wide range of meanings. Fault tolerance in this standard is limited to the misuse of fault tolerance defined in 3.3. In particular, this standard does not include modules in the instrument
The type of fault tolerance that continues to maintain correct operation results under faults does not include those that involve safety-related fault tolerance. Involving electrical safety, explosion-proof safety, and work
The security standards can be enforced when various security contents such as security are available.
2 Normative references
The following documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only dated versions apply to this article
Pieces. For undated references, the latest version (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 18271.1-2017 and the following apply to this document.
3.1
Reasonably foreseen misuse of reasonablyforeseeable misuse
The use of products and/or systems not provided by the supplier, caused by the behavior of easily foreseen people.
[GB/T 20002.4-2015 [2], Definition 3.7]
3.2
Persistent failure persistentfault
The fault will remain until the fault is corrected by some intervention.
Note. The term "intervention" can be modified or repaired.
[GB/T 2900.99-2016 [1], definition 192-04-04]
3.3
Misuse of fault tolerance faulttoleranceofmisuse
In the event of misuse that can reasonably be foreseen, the equipment can still perform some of the specified functions, or it will not cause continuous failure of the equipment.
3.4
Fault insert faultinsertion
Actual faults are introduced into the hardware and software of the device to check whether the device's behavior under fault conditions meets fault-tolerant design requirements.
Fault-tolerant mechanisms or performance are evaluated.
3.5
Protective measures protectivemeasure
Actions or measures to eliminate danger or reduce risk.
