1 Scope
This standard specifies the life of paper and paper products through the water extraction and partial hydrolysis of free formaldehyde content of the determination.
This standard applies to the determination of formaldehyde content in tissue and paper products (tissue paper, toilet paper, wipes, diapers, sanitary napkins, etc.). this

3 acetylacetone - visible spectrophotometry
3.1 principle
After the sample is extracted by water for a certain period of time, the free formaldehyde and hydrolyzed formaldehyde in the sample are transferred to the extract. The extract was acetylacetone reaction
A yellow compound was formed and the absorbance of the solution was measured at 412 nm after cooling. Control standard formaldehyde working curve, calculate the sample
Formaldehyde content.
3.2 Reagents or materials
3.2.1 water, GB/T 6682, three.
3.2.2 formaldehyde solution, a concentration of about 37% (g/g), analytical grade.
3.2.3 Acetylacetone reagent, add 150g ammonium acetate in 1000mL volumetric flask, dissolve with 800mL water, then add 3mL ice B
Acid and 2 mL acetylacetone, dilute to the mark with water and store in a brown bottle.
Note. Because the color of the solution will gradually darken before the reagent is stored for 12h, store it for 12h before use. The reagent is effective within 6 weeks due to its spirit after prolonged storage
Sensitivity may change, so make a standard working curve once a week.
3.2.4 dimedone solution, 1g dimedone (dimethyl-dihydroxy-resorcinol or 5,5-dimethyl-cyclohexanedione) dissolved in ethanol after dilution
To 100 mL. The solution should be ready for use.
3.2.5 saline, 0.9% sodium chloride solution.
3.3 Equipment
3.3.1 250mL stopper Erlenmeyer flask.
3.3.2 1mL, 5mL, 10mL and 25mL single standard pipette and 5mL graduated pipette.
Note. The same exact automatic pipetting system as manual pipetting can be used.
3.3.3 spectrophotometer, wavelength 412nm.
