1 Scope
This standard specifies the method of determining the particle size distribution of precipitated hydrated silica by laser diffraction.
This standard applies to the rubber compound precipitation of hydrated silicon dioxide. The particle size ranges from 0.1 μm to 300 μm.
Note. The laser model used to determine the particle size distribution of the optical model used to set the micro-shape of the sample spherical particles, so the non-spherical particles obtained
Equivalent spherical particle size distribution. The results of the relevant particle size distribution may differ from those measured with other physical principles (eg sedimentation, sieve
Division method).

3 terms and definitions
GB/T 19077.1 Definitions and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Precipitated hydrated silica silica, precipitated, hydrated
A material derived from the aqueous solution of soluble silicate and present in the form of amorphous particles.
3.2
Opacity obscuration
The ratio of the cross-sectional area of the incident (excited) beam blocked by the measured sample particles to the total cross-sectional area of the incident (excited) beam.
3.3
Volume distribution volumedistribution
Particle size distribution based on particle volume. It is expressed as a percentage of the total particle volume of the particles in a given grain.
3.4
10% diameter diameteraddup10%
D10
The particle size corresponding to the cumulative percentage of the laser particle size distribution of the sample reaches 10% in microns (μm).
