This document applies to floating pneumatic brake caliper assemblies (excluding brake chambers) whose working medium is compressed air.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 5620 and the following apply to this document. 3.1 Clamping force The brake caliper assembly, when actuated by a control device, exerts force on the axial end face of the brake disc between the two pad assemblies inside the caliper body. 3.2 Clamping force hysteresis The difference in brake application and brake release input forces required to produce the same clamping force on the caliper assembly (see Figure 1).
