1 Scope
This standard specifies the evaluation of five standard elastomer materials and engine oil compatibility test method, these five elastomeric material is issued
The most typical sealing materials used in contact with engine oil.
This standard provides a formula, the mixing process and curing procedures five standard elastomeric material.
a) nitrile rubber -1 (NBR-1);
b) nitrile rubber -2 (NBR-2);
c) fluorine rubber (of FKM);
d) acrylate rubber (the ACM);
e) silicone rubber (VMQ).
This standard applies under controlled conditions by measuring the hardness change before and after immersion standard elastomer reference sample, tensile strength
Rate, elongation at break rate of change, volume change of engine oil to assess the impact of such elastomers.
