1 Scope

This document specifies the requirements, content, structure and location of markings for the product identification code system for earth-moving machinery as defined in ISO 6165. This document does not apply to the identification of components or accessories. Note. For other types of off-highway machines, refer to this.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 A unique 17-digit alphanumeric symbol assigned by the manufacturer (3.6) to identify the entire machine. Note.
