4 Reagents
All reagents were of analytical grade. The water used was distilled water or water of at least the same purity.
4.1 chloroform.
4.2 acetic acid. 5% (volume fraction) solution.
4.3 Periodic acid solution. Weigh 2.7g periodic acid (H5IO6) into 1L volumetric flask 50mL dissolved in water and diluted with glacial acetic acid
Scale, mixed thoroughly, dark storage.
4.4 150g/L potassium iodide solution. no iodine or iodate.
4.5 0.1mol/L sodium thiosulfate standard solution.
4.6 10g/L starch solution. 1g of soluble starch was dissolved in 100mL of water, and heated with stirring, was added 0.1g salicylic preservatives, boiled
Boiling 3min, cooled to room temperature.
