This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents"

This document replaces GB/T 21898-2008 "Textile Color Representation Method". Compared with GB/T 21898-2008, except for structural adjustments
In addition to editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) Changed the expression method of standard values (see 5.2, 4.2.5 of the.2008 version)
b) Changed the method of determining the label (see 5.3, 4.2.5 and 5.2 of the.2008 edition);
c) The measurement and color difference evaluation methods of the instrument have been changed (see 6.1, 5.1 and 5.2 of the.2008 edition);
d) Added visual measurement and color difference evaluation methods (see 6.2);
e) Added the correspondence between the brightness label and the brightness factor in normative appendix A (see Table A.1, Table 2 of the.2008 version);
f) The color data values corresponding to the labels in Appendix B have been changed (see Table B.1, Table A.1 of the.2008 version).

1 Scope
This document specifies the color stereo, labeling, measurement and color difference evaluation of textile colors.
This document is applicable to the expression of textile colors and can be used as a reference when expressing colors in other industries related to textiles.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 5698 and below apply to this document.
3.1
hue hue
One of the three attributes of color vision, representing red, yellow, green, blue, purple and other characteristics.
3.2
lightness value
One of the three attributes of color vision, it represents the characteristics of the lightness and darkness of the color of an object's surface, giving a gradation between ideal black and ideal white.
3.3
Chroma
One of the three attributes of color vision, it represents the gray level of color on the surface of an object, expressed as the difference between the same brightness and achromatic color.
