This document supersedes GB/T 20831-2007 "Test Method for Temperature Characteristics of Interlayer Insulation Coatings of Electrical Steel Sheets (Strips)", and is consistent with GB/T 20831-
Compared to.2007, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) The applicable temperature range has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.2007 edition);
b) General requirements for thermal durability have been added (see 4.1);
c) Added sample clamping and stacking methods, and sample pressurization methods for rated temperatures below and above 500°C (see 4.2);
d) Increased heat treatment requirements for different heating times (see 4.3);
e) The requirements for the adoption of standards, specimens, and corresponding testing equipment for the adhesion test method have been changed (see 6.2, 4.2.1 of the.2007 edition);
f) The evaluation requirements for adhesion testing have been changed (see 6.3, 4.2.2 of the.2007 edition);
g) The test method and evaluation requirements for surface insulation resistance have been changed (see 7.3, 4.3.2 of the.2007 edition);

1.Scope
This document describes a test method for the thermal durability of insulating coatings on electrical steel strips (sheets).
This document defines the heat treatment process for electrical steel after heat treatment at a specified temperature (maximum 850°C) and for a specified duration (maximum 2500 h).

The specified properties were measured at an ambient temperature of (23±5)℃ before and after heat treatment. This document applies to the following properties of insulating coatings.
---Adhesion;
---Surface insulation resistance/Interlayer insulation resistance;

This document does not apply to other properties of insulating coatings, such as weldability, or discoloration that may occur when exposed to high temperatures.

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 2900.60 and GB/T 9637, as well as the following terms and definitions, apply to this document.

It consists of temperature T (°C) and time t (h), where t is the duration of heat treatment that the insulating coating can withstand relative to the specific coating properties.
Note 1.This mark is used to rate the thermal durability of insulating coatings.
Note 2.A coating may have more than one performance characteristic specification. For example, given characteristic specifications.200/2500 and 800/2, these indicate that the coating performs well at.200℃.
It can withstand 2500 hours of heat treatment, and can withstand 2 hours of heat treatment at 800℃.
4 General Requirements
4.1 General Rules
The thermal durability of the insulating coating should be evaluated by assessing the changes in coating properties before and after heat treatment at a specified temperature T and a specified time t.
The coating properties should be measured at an ambient temperature of (23±5)℃. The thermal durability of the following coating properties should be evaluated separately.
