This standard is based on the State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine issued by Decree 78 of 2005, "geographical indication protection regulations" and
GB 17924-1999 "General requirements for geographical origin of products" to develop.
This standard replaces GB 18739-2002 "rice paper."
This standard compared with GB 18739-2002 main changes are as follows.
--- Standard attributes to the mandatory national standards recommended national standards;
--- According to the State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine promulgated the "geographical indication protection regulations", modifying the standard English names and

--- Revise and improve the definition of rice paper, stressing that "not doped with other materials";
--- Luminance (brightness) by a 72 index was adjusted to 70 to make it more realistic rice paper products;
