The State Administration for Standardization issued a statement.
Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".
Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 17844-1999 "Remote Control Steering Systems for Small Boats". Compared with GB/T 17844-1999, the only changes are structural adjustments.
Aside from editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) The definition has been changed (see Chapter 3, Chapter 2 of the.1999 edition);
b) Increased static load requirements for the outboard engine steering arms of lightweight steering systems (see 5.6);
c) The requirements for the steering system have been changed (see Chapter 6, Chapter 5 of the.1999 edition);
d) Installation requirements have been changed (see Chapter 7, Chapter 6 of the.1999 edition);
e) Increased requirements for the clearance between the control lever and the steering wheel (see 7.7);
f) The structure and content of the experiment were changed (see Chapter 8, Chapter 7 of the.1999 edition);
g) Added markings, a boat owner's manual, and an installation manual (see Chapter 9).
This document is equivalent to ISO 8848.2022 "Remote mechanical steering systems for small boats".

Small boat remote mechanical steering system
1.Scope
This document specifies the design, construction, installation, and testing requirements for the remote mechanical flexible shaft steering system and output pushrod connection point of small boats.
The connection point can connect the boat's rudder, waterjet propulsion system, outboard engines, and stern engine drive engine.
This document applies to three different types of steering systems used on various types of boats.
---Standard steering system, suitable for vehicles equipped with one or two outboard engines (total power exceeding 15kW) and rudder, stern engine drive.
Small boats equipped with automatic propulsion devices and water jet propulsion systems;
---Lightweight steering system, suitable for small boats equipped with a single 15kW~40kW outboard engine;
---Small water jet steering system, excluding personal jet skis.
Note. The standard and lightweight steering systems are mechanically interchangeable. The standard steering system can be used on boats designed for lightweight steering systems. However, the lightweight steering system...
Not for use on boats requiring a standard steering system. The small waterjet steering system differs mechanically from the previous two systems and is only used as defined in this document.
Small waterjet propulsion boat.
This document does not cover emergency steering methods for the vessel.
