1 Scope
This document specifies the requirements, test methods and inspection rules for the oil discharge monitoring system of oil tankers (hereinafter referred to as the monitoring system).
This document applies to the design, manufacture and inspection of oil discharge monitoring systems for oil tankers of 150 gross tonnage and above.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

A system for monitoring the discharge of oily ballast water or other oily water from the cargo hold area into the sea.
Note. Mainly composed of sampling system, oil content meter, analysis unit, flow meter, calculation unit, etc.
