This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents"

This document replaces GB/T 11578-1989 "Landing booms for the St. Lawrence Seaway".
In addition to the integration and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
--- Changed the scope of application (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 1989 edition);
--- The structural form and main dimensions of the landing boom have been changed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 2 of the 1989 edition);
--- Changed the requirements for landing booms (see Chapter 5, Chapter 4 of the 1989 edition);
--- The test method has been changed (see Chapter 6, Chapter 5 of the 1989 edition);
--- Added relevant contents of inspection rules, packaging and storage (see Chapter 7 and Chapter 9);
--- Changed the marking provisions (see Chapter 8, Chapter 6 of the 1989 edition).

1 Scope
This document specifies the structure and dimensions, requirements, test methods, inspection specifications, and
Rules, marking, packaging and storage.
This document applies to the landing booms used on ships with an overall length of more than 50m and a freeboard of not less than 2m sailing in the St. Lawrence Seaway.
