Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".
Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 11372-1989 "Temporal Terminology for Rust Prevention". Compared with GB/T 11372-1989, the main differences are structural adjustments and editorial changes.
Aside from the changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) The terms "corrosion," "dew point," and "condensation" have been added (see 3.1.2, 3.1.14, and 3.1.15);
b) Added rust prevention pretreatment terminology (see 3.2);
c) The terms "electrostatic spraying rust-preventive oil," "degreasing agent," and "metal cleaning agent" have been added (see 3.3.18, 3.3.48, and 3.3.49);
d) The terms “neutral salt spray test”, “acetic acid salt spray test”, and “copper-accelerated acetic acid salt spray test” have been added (see 3.5.7, 3.5.8 and 3.5.9).

3.1 General Terminology
3.1.1

Corrosion products, mainly iron hydroxides and oxides, are produced by metals in the atmosphere due to corrosion.
