Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".
Drafting.
This document replaces GB 6969-2005 "Fire-fighting Suction Hose". Compared with GB 6969-2005, the main differences are structural adjustments and editorial changes.
In addition, the main technological changes are as follows.
a) A new chapter on "Terms and Definitions" has been added (see Chapter 3);
b) A new chapter on "Classification and Models" has been added (see Chapter 4);
c) Increased structural and material requirements for plastic suction pipes (see 5.1);
d) The appearance quality requirements have been changed (see 5.2, 4.11 of the.2005 version);
e) The requirements for the inner diameter of the suction pipe have been changed (see 5.3, 4.1 in the.2005 edition);
f) The requirements for the length of the suction pipe have been changed (see 5.4, 4.1 of the.2005 edition);
g) Interface performance requirements and inspection methods have been added (see 5.5 and 6.5);
h) The mass requirement per unit length has been changed (see 5.6, 4.2 of the.2005 edition);
i) The requirements for rated working pressure, test pressure, and burst pressure of plastic water suction pipes have been increased (see 5.7);
j) Vacuum resistance requirements have been changed (see 5.8, 4.5 in the.2005 edition);
k) The load-bending performance requirements have been changed (see 5.9, 4.6 of the.2005 edition);
l) The bending resistance requirements and test methods for straight-tube suction pipes have been revised (see 5.10, 6.10, and 4.7 and 5.6 of the.2005 edition);
m) The requirements and test methods for the UV radiation resistance of plastic water suction pipes have been added (see 5.14.1, 6.14);
(n) The ozone resistance requirements and test methods for rubber suction pipes have been added (see 5.14.2, 6.15);
o) The inspection rules have been changed (see Chapter 7, Chapter 6 in the.2005 edition);
p) An instruction manual and packaging have been added (see Chapter 8).

1 Scope
This document defines the terminology for fire-fighting water suction pipes, and specifies their classification and model designation, performance requirements, inspection rules, marking, and instructions for use.
The book and packaging describe the corresponding testing methods.
This document applies to fire hoses used for pumping water or foam liquid during firefighting and rescue operations.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
