Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document replaces GB 14749-2006 "Safety Requirements for Baby Walkers". Compared with GB 14749-2006, the only changes are structural adjustments and editing. Aside from the sexual alterations, the main technical changes are as follows. a) The terms "base", "parking device", and "braking device" have been added (see 3.4, 3.6, and 3.7); b) Added limits for "plasticizers", "formaldehyde", "decomposable harmful aromatic amine dyes", "pH", and "migratable N-nitrosamines". Limits for N-nitrosamine precursors, limits for short-chain chlorinated paraffins, and limits for formaldehyde, benzene, toluene, xylene, and total volatile organic compounds. Technical requirements and test methods for "TVOC (Total Volatile Organic Compounds) emission levels" (see 4.1.4~4.1.10, 5.4~5.9); c) Added technical requirements for the locking mechanism in the locking, folding, and frame adjustment devices (see 4.3.7); d) Change "clamping, shearing" to "rigid moving parts" (see 4.3.8,.2006 version 4.3.8); e) The width requirements for the crotch strap have been changed (see 4.3.9,.2006 version 4.3.9); f) The technical requirements and test methods for the anti-collision distance when using push handles on baby walkers have been changed (see 4.3.12 and 5.15,.2006 edition). 1 Scope

This document specifies the baby walkers (hereinafter referred to as walkers) for use by infants from the stage where they can sit up until they can walk independently. The safety requirements are described, along with the corresponding testing methods. This document does not apply to medical walkers or walkers with air cushion support for infants. Baby walkers that come with toys for children to play with are subject to toy standards.
