1 Scope
This document specifies the technical and dimensional requirements for sockets and starter sockets for tubular fluorescent lamps
Test method for safety and fit in starter mounts.
This document applies to free-standing lampholders and built-in lampholders for tubular fluorescent lamps fitted with the caps shown in Appendix A,
Self-contained starter bases for starters conforming to IEC 60155 with a working voltage not exceeding 1000 V rms when operating in current circuits
and built-in starter mount.
This document also applies to single-ended tubular fluorescent lamp sockets with integral shell and dome, similar to Edison screw sockets
(eg G23 and G24 lampholders), further examination in accordance with the following clauses of IEC 60238.9.4, 9.5, 9.6, 10.3, 11.7, 12, 13.2,
13.5, 13.6, 13.7, 14, 16.3, 16.4, 16.5, 16.9.
This document also applies to lampholders integrated with luminaires or intended to be installed inside the appliance, and only includes requirements for lampholders. for all other
requirements, such as protection against electric shock in the terminal area, should comply with the standard requirements of the relevant appliance, and be installed in a suitable device first,
When tested according to the device's own standards, it is also tested. Lampholders for use by luminaire manufacturers are not available for retail sale.
