1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, structure and classification, measurement requirements, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage requirements of ultrasonic water meters. This standard applies to the use of ultrasonic time difference method for flow measurement, and meets the requirements of GB/T 778.1-2007, GB/T 778.3-2007 cold water meter and hot water meter.

3 Terms and definitions

4 Structure and classification

4.1 Structure The structure of the ultrasonic water meter is integral or split. 4.2 Classification 4.2.1 The classification according to the applicable installation environment is as follows. a) Class B. Fixed installation indoors; b) Class C. Fixed installation outdoors. 4.2.2 The classification according to the electromagnetic environment is as follows. a) E1 level. residential, commercial and light industry; b) E2 level. industrial.

5 Measurement requirements

5.1 Measurement principle Ultrasonic water meters should adopt the time difference method for flow measurement. The time difference method uses the time td of the ultrasonic pulse to travel downstream in the fluid The difference between the propagation time tu and the countercurrent propagation time tu is used to measure the fluid velocity, thereby calculating the fluid flow in the pipeline. The basic measurement principle is shown in Figure 1. 5.2 Metrological characteristics Should comply with the provisions of 5.1 in GB/T 778.1-2007, and Q3/Q1 should not be less than 125. 5.3 Maximum allowable error It should meet the requirements of 5.2 in GB/T 778.1-2007, and the maximum allowable error in the low zone and the maximum allowable error in the high zone should meet the following regulations. a) When the water temperature is within the specified range of the rated working conditions, the maximum volume discharged at the flow rate between Q1 and Q2 (not including Q2) The allowable error, according to the accuracy level, should meet the maximum allowable error in the low area of Table 1; b) When the water temperature is within the specified range of the rated working conditions, the maximum allowable error of the volume discharged at the flow rate between Q2 (including Q2) and Q4, According to the accuracy level, it should meet the maximum allowable error of the high zone in Table 1. 5.4 Repeatability error It should not be greater than 1/3 of the absolute value of the maximum allowable error value given in Table 1. 5.5 Zero flow reading It shall meet the requirements of 5.3 of GB/T 778.1-2007. 5.6 Rated operating conditions (ROC) It shall meet the requirements of 5.4 in GB/T 778.1-2007. 5.7 Other requirements It shall meet the requirements of 5.6 in GB/T 778.1-2007.

6 Technical requirements

6.1 Visual inspection requirements 6.1.1 Appearance It should have a good surface treatment, free of burrs, scratches, cracks, rust, mildew and coating peeling. The protective cover on the display device should have Good transparency, no distortion of the reading and other defects that hinder the reading. 6.1.2 Electronic seal It shall meet the requirements of 6.5 in GB/T 778.1-2007. 6.1.3 Material and structure It shall meet the requirements of 6.1 of GB/T 778.1-2007. 6.1.4 Verification marks and protective devices It shall meet the requirements of 6.4 in GB/T 778.1-2007. 6.2 Technical characteristics 6.2.1 Caliber and overall dimensions It shall meet the requirements of 4.1.1 in GB/T 778.1-2007. 6.2.2 Threaded connection It shall meet the requirements of 4.1.2 in GB/T 778.1-2007. 6.2.3 Flange connection It shall meet the requirements of 4.1.3 in GB/T 778.1-2007. 6.3 Display device 6.3.1 Display content The display unit of the current flow rate should be m3/h, and the display unit of the accumulated volume should be m3.The visible height of the displayed number should not be small At 4mm. Fault prompt information. 6.4 Maximum allowable working pressure It shall meet the requirements of 5.4.2 in GB/T 778.1-2007. 6.5 Pressure loss The maximum pressure loss under rated working conditions should not exceed 0.04MPa. 6.6 Power requirements It shall meet the requirements of 6.7.4 in GB/T 778.1-2007.For ultrasonic water meters with nominal diameter DN not greater than 40mm, It adopts built-in battery for power supply, and the service life of the battery should not be less than 61 years. 6.7 Safety requirements 6.7.1 Power-off data protection When the power supply stops supplying power, it should be able to save the accumulated volume recorded before the power failure, the corresponding time mark and the data in 6.9, and restore the supply. It should be able to automatically restore normal metering functions after electricity. 6.7.2 Electrical insulation Should meet the requirements of GB 4706.1. 6.7.3 Enclosure protection class The classification of the enclosure protection level shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB 4208, and shall meet the provisions of IP65; for water that may be Table, should meet the requirements of IP68. 6.8 Durability Should meet the provisions of 6.2 of GB/T 778.1-2007, the maximum allowable error should meet the provisions of 5.3. 6.9 Data storage 6.9.1 Historical measurement data It should be able to store the cumulative volume data of the last 24 months and the corresponding time stamp. 6.9.2 Event Record The ultrasonic water meter should be able to record at least the following events and the corresponding time marks in the running state. a) Power failure or built-in battery undervoltage; b) Failure of ultrasonic transducer; c) The water flow in the pipe section is not full (or empty pipe); d) Reverse flow of water in the pipe section (for water meters with irreversible flow measurement); e) The current flow is greater than Q4 or less than Q1; f) The water temperature exceeds the temperature range of the water meter. 6.10 Data communication The cumulative volume of the water meter, the current flow rate and the data storage content specified in 6.9 should be able to be read out through data communication, communication interface and protocol Should comply with the relevant regulations of GB/T 26831.When the communication interface voltage is greater than 36V, the insulation resistance and insulation strength of the ultrasonic water meter should be Comply with the provisions of Chapter 4 of GB/T 15479-1995. 6.11 Weather resistance In low temperature, high temperature, circulating damp heat and low temperature storage environment, the ultrasonic water meter should not be damaged or lose data information. 6.12 Electromagnetic compatibility In the environment of electrostatic discharge, electromagnetic field, static magnetic field, electrical fast transient pulse group and electrical surge, the ultrasonic water meter should not be damaged or lose data information. 6.13 Reliability Under rated working conditions, the mean time between failures (MTBF) should not be less than 30000h. 6.14 Transport shock and drop resistance Under the condition of transportation and packaging, the water meter should not be damaged or lose information after the continuous impact and free drop test of simulated transportation specified by JB/T 9329, and can work normally.

7 Test method

7.1 Test requirements 7.1.1 General test requirements Should comply with the provisions of Chapter 4 in GB/T 778.3-2007. 7.1.2 Test device It should be able to meet the metrological characteristics of the instrument under test, and the measurement uncertainty of the test device should not be greater than 1/5 of the error limit of the instrument under test. 7.2 Visual inspection Use visual inspection and conventional inspection tools to check the appearance of the ultrasonic water meter, and it should meet the requirements of 6.1. 7.3 Technical characteristics inspection Use visual inspection and conventional inspection tools to check the technical characteristics of the ultrasonic water meter, which should meet the requirements of 6.2. 7.4 Display device inspection Use visual inspection and conventional inspection tools to check the display device of the ultrasonic water meter, which should meet the requirements of 6.3. 7.5 Measurement accuracy test 7.5.1 Basic indication error test The factory inspection shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of Appendix A, and the type inspection shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of 5.8 in GB/T 778.3-2007, and shall comply with the provisions of 5.3. 7.5.2 Water temperature influence test Carry out in accordance with the provisions of 5.9 in GB/T 778.3-2007, and should comply with the provisions of 5.3. 7.5.3 Pressure influence test According to the provisions of 5.10 in GB/T 778.3-2007, and should meet the provisions of 5.3. 7.5.4 Countercurrent test According to the provisions of 5.11 in GB/T 778.3-2007, and should meet the provisions of 5.3. 7.6 Measurement repeatability test Follow the provisions of Appendix B. 7.7 Zero flow reading test Keep the water pressure and water temperature in the measuring pipe section stable and the water flow is zero, observe and record the water meter reading for 2 minutes, which should meet the requirements of 5.5. 7.8 Static pressure test The factory inspection shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of 11.2 in GB/T 778.3-2007, and the type inspection shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 6 in GB/T 778.3-2007, and shall comply with the provisions of 6.4. 7.9 Pressure loss test According to the provisions of Chapter 7 of GB/T 778.3-2007, and should meet the provisions of 6.5. 7.10 Power test 7.10.1 Battery working life test Install the ultrasonic water meter on the test bench to make it run normally under Q3, and the water temperature is room temperature. Use oscilloscope to measure power supply current The curve, the time is not less than 10 complete sampling cycles, and the power supply current is calculated based on 80% of the battery's rated capacity value as reference data The effective value and the corresponding battery usage time should meet the requirements of 6.6. 7.10.2 Battery undervoltage monitoring function test Use an adjustable DC stabilized power supply to replace the power supply battery, and slowly decrease the supply voltage from the normal working voltage. 8 Inspection rules
