Spodumene Concentrate
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking,
packaging, transportation, storage, quality certificate and contract (or order form)
content of spodumene concentrate.
This Standard is applicable to spodumene concentrate, which is obtained through
various mineral processing methods and enrichment. The spodumene concentrate has
been extensively applied to the glass and ceramic industry, and the production of
various chemical products of lithium.
2 Normative References
The following documents are indispensable to the application of this Standard. In terms
of references with a specified date, only versions with a specified date are applicable
to this Standard. In terms of references without a specified date, the latest version
(including all the modifications) is applicable to this Standard.

3 Requirements
3.1 Product Classification
5.4.1 Adopt intubation method (plastic tube or stainless-steel tube) to evenly take
samples from each batch of products.
5.4.2 In terms of sacked products, if the weight of each batch of the same grade of
concentrate products is over 10 t, take sample sacks in accordance with 10% of the
number of sacks; if the weight of each batch of the same grade of concentrate products
is below 10 t, take sample sacks in accordance with 20% of the number of sacks.
Unpack all the taken sample sacks; adopt intubation method to take samples sack by
sack. The weight of the taken sample shall be not less than 2,000 g. After mixing it up,
split it into around 500 g. Then, divide it into three parts; split them into around 200 g
for chemical analysis. Samples used for chemical analysis need to be smashed to less
than 0.074 μm.
5.4.3 In terms of the sampling of bulk concentrate products, take samples in
accordance with plum flower-shaped distributed points. Then, in accordance with the
stipulations in 5.4.2, respectively prepare the samples.
5.5 Determination of Inspection Result
5.5.1 When the result of chemical composition analysis is disqualified, it is allowed to
re-take samples (or double the samples) to conduct re-inspection of the disqualified
items. If the samples still fail in one of the items in the re-inspection result, then, this
batch of products shall be determined as disqualified.
5.5.2 When the samples are disqualified in granularity inspection, then, this batch of
products shall be determined as disqualified.
5.5.3 When the samples are disqualified in moisture inspection, then, this batch of
products shall be determined as disqualified.
5.5.4 When the samples are disqualified in appearance quality inspection, then, this
batch of products shall be determined as disqualified.
6 Packaging, Marking, Transportation, Storage and
Quality Certificate
6.1 Packaging, Transportation and Storage
Products may be packed in sacks or bulk. The specific mode of packaging shall be
determined in accordance with the demand-side’s demands. During the transportation
and storage, products shall be protected from the rain.
6.2 Marking
6.2.1 If products are shipped in sacks, on each sack, the following shall be indicated:
