This Standard replaces YB/T 5222-2004 "Quality carbon structural steel round tube blank". Compared with YB/T 5222-2004, the main changes in this document are as follows: - Delete the relevant requirements for continuous cast round tube blanks; - Add the content related to forged round tube blanks; - Modify the diameter range of round tube blanks; - Modify the allowable diameter deviation; - Modify the diameter cut slope; - Modify the delivery state; - Modify the relevant regulations on macrostructure. This Standard was proposed by China Iron and Steel Industry Association. This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Steel of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 183). The drafting organizations of this Standard: Hunan Valin Xiangtan Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd., Hengyang Valin Steel Pipe Co., Ltd., Tianjin Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd., and Metallurgical Industry Information Standards Research Institute. Main drafters of this Standard: Liu Jianbing, Zhao Bin, Gong Wenxu, Li Xiaoli, Xiao Hongguang, Sun Guoqing, Wang Yujie, Liu Baoshi, Wu Qingming. Versions of standard substituted by this Standard are: - GB/T 11172-1985; - YB/T 5222-1993, YB/T 5222-2004. Quality hot rolled and forged carbon structural steel round tube blank 1 Scope This Standard specifies the ordering content, size, shape, weight and allowable deviations, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and packaging, marks, quality certificates, etc. for quality hot rolled and forged carbon structural steel round tube blanks. This Standard is applicable to hot-rolled round tubes with a diameter of 50mm~400mm and forged round tube blanks with a diameter of 60mm~900mm (hereinafter referred to as tube blanks) for the manufacture of seamless steel pipes. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. After negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser and noted in the contract, delivery can also be made in other states. 5.4 Macrostructure 5.4.1 Hot-rolled tube blanks with a diameter not greater than 250mm and forged tube blanks with a diameter not greater than 400mm shall not have visually visible white spots, delamination, cracks, shrinkage cavities, inclusions and skinning on the cross- section acid-leached microstructure test pieces. However, hot-rolled tube blanks with a diameter greater than 250mm and forged tube blanks with a diameter greater than 400mm are allowed to have shrinkage cavities not exceeding level 1.0 specified in GB/T 1979-2001 with the consent of the purchaser and stated in the contract. 5.4.2 For the macrostructure structural defects allowed to exist in the tube blank, general porosity, center porosity and segregation shall be evaluated according to GB/T 1979- 2001. The qualification level of tube blanks with a diameter not greater than 350mm is not greater than level 2.5; the qualification level of tube blanks with a diameter greater than 350mm is not greater than level 3.0. 5.4.3 After negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser, ultrasonic testing can be used instead of macrostructure testing. Its ultrasonic testing method and qualification level shall be specified in the contract. 5.5 Non-metallic inclusions According to the requirements of the purchaser, the tube blanks can be inspected for non-metallic inclusions according to Method A in GB/T 10561-2005. The qualification level is determined by negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser. 5.6 Grain size According to the requirements of the purchaser, the tube blank can be inspected for austenite grain size according to GB/T 6394. The qualification level is determined through coordination between the supplier and the purchaser. 5.7 Surface quality 5.7.1 There shall be no visible scars, folds, inclusions or cracks with a depth greater than 0.2mm on the surface of the tube blank. It is allowed to have individual small scratches, concave surfaces, pitting and other defects that do not exceed the negative deviation of the diameter from the actual size. ......
