Foreword
This standard is a revision of JC/T 694-1998 "Packaging of sanitary wares".
Compared with JC/T 694-1998, the main changes of this standard are as
follows.
- ADD the honeycomb carton, heat shrinkable film or combined packaging
form.
- MODIFY the stacking test and drop test methods.
This standard replaces JC/T 694-1998 "Packaging of sanitary wares" from the
date of implementation.
This standard was proposed by the China Building Materials Federation.
This standard shall be under the jurisdiction of the National Standardization
Technical Committee for Building and Sanitary wares.
The responsible drafting organization this standard. Xianyang Ceramic

1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, packaging forms, packaging
materials, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking,
packaging, transportation and storage of packaging of sanitary wares.
This standard applies to the packaging of sanitary wares.
2 Normative references
The provisions in following documents become the provisions of this Standard
through reference in this Standard. For the dated references, the subsequent
amendments (excluding corrections) or revisions do not apply to this Standard;
however, parties who reach an agreement based on this Standard are
encouraged to study if the latest versions of these documents are applicable.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions in column F apply to this standard.
3.1
Packaging
In order to protect products in the circulation process, facilitate storage and
transportation, promote sales, a general term of containers, materials and
auxiliary materials used according to certain technical methods.
3.2
Container
A general name of product-containing equipment used for storage,
transportation or sale, referred to as container.
3.3
Package
The whole product formed by packaging.
3.4
Packaging material
A general term used to manufacture packaging containers and materials that
constitute product packaging.
3.5
Cushioning material
Materials used for shock-proofing include foam plastic, bubble plastic film,
stretched wrap film, pulp molding, corrugated fiberboard, honeycomb
fiberboard, wood materials or other materials with equivalent effects.
3.6
Ancillary material
The materials that play an auxiliary role in the process of manufacturing
containers and packaging, including various metal nails, adhesives,
adhesive tapes, plastic straps, steel belts or other materials with equivalent
effects.
4 Packaging form
4.1 Packaging of sanitary ware includes lattice wooden boxes, corrugated
fiberboard boxes, honeycomb boxes, heat shrinkable film or combination
packaging of the above forms. Special requirements can be negotiated by both
parties.
4.2 The seams of sanitary ware containers are sealed by nailing, gluing or
laminating.
5 Packaging materials
5.1 Wood materials
The wooden materials used for making open crate shall meet the requirements
of GB/T 153 and GB/T 12464.
5.2 Corrugated fiberboard
The corrugated fiberboard used for packaging of export products shall meet the
requirements of GB 5034.The corrugated fiberboard used for packaging of
domestic products shall meet the requirements of GB/T 6544.
5.3 Honeycomb fiberboard
Honeycomb fiberboard for packaging shall meet the requirements of BB/T 0016.
5.4 Other materials
Except for wood materials, corrugated fiberboard and honeycomb fiberboard
packaging materials, all materials that can constitute product packaging belong
to other materials. Relevant requirements for other materials shall comply with
relevant standards or be negotiated between the supplier and the buyer.
6 Technical requirements
6.1 Package
6.1.1 Stacking performance
After the stacking test as carried out in accordance with 7.1, there shall be no
breaks or damages in the fiberboard, box retainer, box and joints of the
container; the contents are not allowed to be broken or damaged; the straps
shall not be broken or tripped.
6.1.3 Packing quality
After the packing test is carried out in accordance with 7.3, the contents shall
have no obvious displacement or looseness.
7 Test method
7.1 Stacking test
7.1.1 Specimen
The package after the sanitary ware product packaging is completed is used as
a specimen, or two or more packages are stacked together as a specimen.
7.1.2 Test principle
Place the specimen on a horizontal plane and apply a uniform load on it.
7.1.3 Test device
7.1.3.1 Horizontal platform
The surface of the horizontal platform shall be flat and hard. The height
difference between any two points shall not exceed 2 mm. If concrete floor is
used, its thickness shall not be less than 150 mm.
7.1.4 Safety facilities
Attention shall be paid to the stability and safety of the applied load during the
test. For this reason, a set of reliable test facilities must be provided; the load
can be ensured to be controlled in the event of a dangerous situation, in order
to prevent damage to nearby personnel.
7.1.5 Load
Weights can be used, or other devices can be used. The load must meet the
requirements of 7.1.6.
7.1.7.4 A stacking test is carried out for each specimen. After the test is
completed, remove the load and the loading plate. Check the change and
damage of the package, its contents and other related materials.
7.2 Drop test
7.2.1 Specimen
The package after the sanitary ware product packaging is completed is used as
a specimen.
7.2.2 Test principle
Elevate the specimen to a predetermined height. Then make it fall freely
according to the predetermined state and collide with the impact platform.
7.2.3 Test device
7.2.3.1 Impact platform
The impact platform shall be a horizontal platform, which shall not move or
deform during the test, meanwhile meet the following requirements.
7.2.3.2 Lifting device
The specimen shall not be damaged during lifting and lowering.
7.2.4 Drop height
The drop height refers to the distance from the bottom surface of the specimen
to the impact platform when it is ready to be released. The drop height
determined according to the weight and form of the package is as listed in Table
3.
7.2.5 Test procedure
7.3 Packing test
Lift the package and shake it up & down and left & right to observe whether the
contents have obvious displacement and looseness, whether the package
composed of two or more products collides and shakes, whether the strapping
is broken or tripped.
8 Inspection rules
8.1 Inspection classification
Product inspection is divided into exit-factory inspection and type inspection.
8.2 Exit-factory inspection
8.2.1 Inspection items
The exit-factory inspection item is the packing quality.
8.3 Type inspection
8.3.1 Inspection items
Type inspection includes all items in the technical requirements of Chapter 6 of
this standard.
8.3.2 Inspection conditions
Type inspection shall be carried out in one of the following situations.
8.3.3 Group-batching rules and sampling plan
8.3.3.1 Group-batching rules
The sanitary ware packaging’s group-batch shall be determined by the batch of
the same variety and the same type of contents. When there is a contract
requirement, it shall be as negotiated between the supplier and the buyer.
8.4 Sampling method
The exit-factory inspection shall randomly select samples from the batches
according to the sample size specified in 8.2.2.
9 Marking, packaging, transportation and storage
9.1 Markings
9.1.1 The marking of sanitary ware product’s packages shall be implemented
in accordance with the provisions of GB 191 and GB/T 13483.
9.2 Packaging
9.2.1 Sanitary ware products can be packaged only after passing the inspection
in accordance with the provisions of GB 6952.
9.2.2 The number of products packaged in each carton is determined by the
weight, specifications and shape of the product. Generally, the weight of each
package does not exceed 75 kg.
9.4 Storage
During storage, the products shall be stacked separately according to their
variety, model, color number, etc. The long-term stacking shall be 100 mm
above the ground. The warehouse shall be kept dry and clean during storage.
It is strictly prohibited for moisture.
