1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification and code number, order content,
dimensions, shape, weight, technical requirements, test methods, inspection
rules, packaging, markings and quality certificates for hot rolling checker steel
sheet and strip.
This standard applies to diamond-shaped, lentil-shaped, round bean-shaped
and combination-shaped hot rolling checker steel sheet and strip (hereinafter
referred to as steel sheet and strips) having a thickness of 1.4 mm ~ 16.0 mm.
2 Normative references

3 Classification and code
3.1 Classification by edge status is as follows.
a) Trimming, EC;
b) Not trimming, EM.
3.2 Classification by shape of the pattern is as follows.
a) Diamond, LX;
b) Lentil-shape, BD;
c) Round bean shape, YD;
d) Combined shape, ZH.
4 Order contents
4.1 Contracts or orders placed under this standard shall include the following.
a) This standard number;
b) Grade;
c) Product category (steel sheet or strip);
d) Specifications;
e) Pattern shape;
f) Edge status;
g) Other requirements.
4.2 Marking example
The untrimmed lentil-shaped pattern steel sheet which is delivered in
Table 3 -- Steel sheet flatness, in millimeters

5.5 Other sizes and shapes of steel sheets and strips are to comply with the
requirements of GB/T 709.
5.6 Steel sheets and strips are delivered by actual weight. In accordance with
the requirements of the purchaser, the steel sheet can refer to Appendix A and
be delivered by theoretical weight.
6 Technical requirements
6.1 Grades and chemical composition
6.1.1 The steel grade and chemical composition (smelting analysis) shall
comply with the provisions of GB/T 700, GB/T 712, GB/T 1591, and GB/T 4171.
With the agreement of the supplier and purchaser, it can supply other grades of
steel sheets and strips.
6.1.2 The allowable deviation of the chemical composition of finished steel
sheets and strips shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 222.
6.2 Delivery status
6.2.1 Steel sheets and strips are delivered in hot rolling condition.
6.2.2 Steel sheets and strips are usually supplied in an untrimmed state, or
otherwise supplied in a trimmed state as specified by the purchaser and
specified in the contract.
6.3 Mechanical properties
According to the requirements of the purchaser, and specified in the contract,
tensile and bending tests can be performed. The performance indicators shall
meet the requirements of GB/T 700, GB/T 712, GB/T 1591, and GB/T 4171 or
the agreement between the both parties.
6.4 Surface quality
6.4.1 The surface of steel sheets and strips shall be free of bubbles, scars,
cracks, folds, and inclusions. There shall be no delamination of steel sheets
and strips.
6.4.2 The surface of steel sheets and strips is allowed to have a thin layer of
