Example 1. Q550NHJE Q - The first letter of the Chinese phonetic alphabet of the Chinese character “屈” representing the yield strength; 550 - Specified minimum value of the yield strength, in unit of Megapascal (MPa); NHJ - The first letters of the Chinese phonetic alphabets of the Chinese characters “耐候” and “集” respectively representing the weathering steels and freight containers; E - Quality grade E. Example 2. Q700JE Q - The first letter of the Chinese phonetic alphabet of the Chinese character “屈” representing the yield strength; 700 - Specified minimum value of the yield strength, in unit of Megapascal (MPa); J - The first letter of the Chinese phonetic alphabet of the Chinese character “集” representing the freight containers; E - Quality grade E. b According to the agreement reached between both sides, for the product with the thickness of less than 3.0mm, the lower limit of the tensile strength can be 510MPa; c If the specimen thickness is greater than 8mm, the minimum yield strength is allowed to decrease by 20MPa; d a refers to the specimen thickness; b refers to the specimen width. Table 6 Charpy (V-notch) Test Temperature and Impact Energy Absorption of Hot-rolled Steel Plates and Strips Quality grade Charpy (v-notch) impact test a Specimen direction Temperature / °C Impact energy absorption (KV2) / J No less than Longitudinal -20 -40 a The impact specimen dimensions shall be 10mm × 10mm × 55mm. 6.4.2 Charpy (v-notch) impact energy absorption shall be calculated in accordance with the arithmetic mean value of three specimen values. One of the specimen values is allowed to be less than the specified value in Table 6, but shall not be less than 70% of the specified value. 6.4.3 For the steel plates with the thicknesses of less than 12mm, Charpy (v- notch) impact test shall use auxiliary specimens. For the steel plates with the thicknesses of greater than 8mm and less than 12mm, the auxiliary specimen dimensions shall be 10mm × 7.5mm × 55mm. The test results shall not be less than 75% of the specified value in Table 6. For the steel plates with the thicknesses of 6mm to 8mm, the auxiliary specimen dimension... ......
