Foreword
GB/T 2423.21 is Part 21 of GB/T 2423. See the informative appendix NA for the
composition of GB/T 2423.
This Part identically adopts IEC 60068-2-13:1983 (Edition One) "Basic
environmental testing procedures - Part 2: Tests - Test M: Low air pressure"
(English version). The technical content is the same as IEC 60068-2-13:1983.
The following editorial changes have been made to the writing format:
- to be consistent with the title of the new version of IEC 60068, the title of
this Part is changed from "Basic environmental test regulations" to
"Environmental testing for electric and electronic products";
- change "this Standard" to "this Part";
- delete the foreword and preface of IEC 60068-2-13:1983; add the foreword
of this Part;
- add the informative annex "Composition of GB/T 2423" (see Annex NA);
- in normative references, refer the national standards that have
correspondence with the international standards and add the standards
used as references in the text;
- add table number and title to the table in 4.1; adjust the positions of NOTE
1 and NOTE 2 into the table.
This Part replaces GB/T 2423.21-1991 "Basic environmental testing
procedures for electric and electronic products - Test M: Low air pressure".
Compared with GB/T 2423.21-1991, the main changes in this Part are as
follows:
- to be consistent with the format of the original text of IEC 60068-2-13:1983,
the order of the clauses in GB/T 2423.21-1991 has been adjusted in
accordance with the structure of IEC 60068-2-13:1983.
Annex NA of this Part is informative.
This Part was proposed by and shall be under the jurisdiction of National
Technical Committee on Environmental Conditions and Environmental Tests for
Electrical and Electronic Products of Standardization Administration of China
(SAC/TC 8).

1 Introduction
1.1 Scope
This Part deals with low pressure tests at room temperature.
The object of this test is to determine the ability of components, equipment or
other articles to be stored, transported or used under low air pressure conditions.
NOTE: Articles to be stored, transported or used under a simultaneous combination of high
or low temperature and low air pressure should, where the combination is important for the
stresses imposed on the article or for the failure mechanisms, be tested according to:
- GB/T 2423.25, Environmental testing - Part 2: Test methods - Test Z/AM: Combined
cold / low air pressure tests
- GB/T 2423.26, Environmental testing - Part 2: Test methods - Test Z/BM: Combined
dry heat / low air pressure tests
1.2 Normative references
The provisions in following documents become the provisions of this Part of
GB/T 2423 through reference in this Part of GB/T 2423. For dated references,
the subsequent amendments (excluding corrigendum) or revisions do not apply
to this Standard, however, parties who reach an agreement based on this
Standard are encouraged to study if the latest versions of these documents are
applicable. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced
document applies.
