4 Requirements
4.1 Main parameters of tyres
Tyre specifications, load index or ply, measuring rim, load capacity, inflation pressure,
permitted rim shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 2978 or relevant industry
technical documents.
Note: Complying with relevant industry technical documents refers to passenger car tyres with
any parameter different from GB/T 2978 and not within the scope of GB/T 2978.
4.2 Outer rim dimensions of new tyres
The total width and outer diameter of the tyre section shall comply with the provisions
of Appendix A.
4.3 Correspondence between tyre speed symbol and maximum driving speed
The correspondence between tyre speed symbol and maximum driving speed shall
comply with the provisions of Appendix B.
4.4 Correspondence between tyre load index and load capacity
The correspondence between tyre load index and load capacity shall comply with the
provisions of Appendix C.
4.5 Safety performance
4.5.1 Tyre strength performance
Applicable to bias tyres, T-type temporary spare tyres, radial tyres with a nominal aspect
ratio of 50 or more. For tyre strength performance test, the destructive energy at each
test point shall not be less than the provisions of Table 1.
4.9 Appearance quality
For the appearance quality, the tyre shall not have appearance defects that seriously
affect the service life, such as delamination between components, sponginess, broken
wire rings, serious pull-up of wire rings, multiple cord breakage, wrinkling of tyre inner
cords, rubber edge cords of tyre crown. If a cushion belt is used, the appearance of the
cushion belt shall not be incomplete and the belt shall not be cracked.
5 Test methods
5.1 The total width and outer diameter of the new tyre after inflation and the height of
the tread wear mark shall be measured in accordance with GB/T 521.
5.2 Tyre strength, tubeless tyre unseating resistance, durability, low pressure
performance, high speed performance shall be tested in accordance with GB/T 4502.
5.3 The rolling resistance of the tyre shall be measured in accordance with the method
specified in GB/T 29040; the results shall be rounded off in accordance with the
provisions of GB/T 8170, with one decimal place retained.
5.4 The wet road grip performance of the tyre shall be measured in accordance with the
test method specified in GB/T 21910; the results shall be rounded off in accordance
with the provisions of GB/T 8170, with two decimal places retained.
5.5 The appearance quality shall be inspected by visual inspection.
6 Judgment rules
6.1 Outer edge dimensions, tread wear mark height, wear sign, appearance quality
According to the provisions of GB/T 521, measure the total width, outer diameter, tread
wear mark height of the test tyre; visually check the wear mark, wear sign, appearance
quality. If the measured total width and outer diameter of the tyre meet the
corresponding provisions of 4.2, it is judged that the outer edge dimensions of this item
meet the requirements of this document; if the wear mark height meets the provisions
of 4.8.1, it is judged that the wear mark height meets the requirements of this document;
if the visually inspected wear marks and wear sign meet the provisions of 4.8.1 and
4.8.2 respectively, then the appearance quality meets the provisions of 4.9, it is judged
that it meets the requirements of this document.
6.2 Safety performance
According to the requirements of GB/T 4502, the test tyre is subjected to strength
performance test, bead unseating resistance test, durability test, low air pressure
performance test, high-speed performance test. If the test results meet the corresponding
provisions of 4.5, it is judged that the performance meets the requirements of this
document. For the strength test, if the tyre touches the rim but is not punctured,
meanwhile it does not reach the minimum damage energy value, THEN, the test point
is also considered to have "passed the test"; for the bead unseating test, if the tyre does
not unseat but slips or touches the rim, it is also considered to have "passed the test".
6.3 Rolling resistance
According to the provisions of GB/T 29040, measure the rolling resistance of the test
tyre; calculate its rolling resistance coefficient; calculate the judgment value according
to the provisions of GB/T 29042. If the judgment value reaches the provisions of 4.6, it
is judged that the rolling resistance coefficient meets the limit requirements specified
in this document. During the production consistency check, the limit judgment value of
the tyre rolling resistance coefficient shall not be greater than the limit plus 0.3 N/kN.
6.4 Relative grip performance on wet roads
According to the provisions of GB/T 21910, measure the relative grip index of the test
tyre on wet roads. If the test result reaches the provisions of 4.7, it is judged that the
relative grip index on wet roads meets the limit requirements. During the production
consistency check, the limit judgment value of the relative grip index of the tyre on wet
roads shall not be lower than the limit requirements.
7 Signs
7.1 Each tyre sidewall shall have the following signs:
a) Tyre specification sign;
b) Trademark;
c) Load index or ply, load capacity, inflation pressure;
d) Speed symbol;
e) Name of the frame material and the number of ply used for the crown and sidewall
of radial tyres; name of the frame material used for bias tyres;
f) Sign of the location of the tread wear mark;
g) Production number.
Items a) ~ f) are engraved signs; item g) is a permanent sign.
7.2 Radial tyres shall be engraved with the "RADIAL" sign; tubeless tyres shall be
engraved with the "TUBELESS" sign.
