Rubber-modified acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) is thermoplastic engineering plastics. It has been widely used in food containers and food processing machinery equipment. This standard references to those contents related to ABS in USA FDA 177•102 and other health national standards of plastic products. This standard was first-time released in April 1998. This standard was proposed by Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China. Responsible drafting organizations of this standard. Shanghai Food Hygiene Supervision and Inspection Institute, Guangxi Autonomous Region Food Hygiene Food Hygiene Supervision and Inspection Institute, and Gansu Provincial Health and Epidemic Prevention Station. The main drafters of this standard. Gu Zhenhua, Lu Yi, Kong Zhongfu, Luo Congbiao, and Yang Wenjun. This standard shall be responsibly interpreted by the focal point Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine which is commissioned by the Ministry of Health. This standard specifies the hygienic requirements and test methods of rubber-modified acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) products. This standard applies to the containers, made of materials of which the rubber-modified acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer resin is the raw material and is used for food containers and packaging material; food processing machinery and equipment; contactable drinks; low-alcohol wines; and grease food.2 Reference standards
