1 Scope
This standard specifies the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method for the determination of residual acetaldehyde residues in foods.

3 Method summary
The tetraacetaldehyde in the sample is extracted with a dichloromethane-acetone mixed solvent, purified by solid phase extraction, and detected by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.

4 reagents and materials
Unless otherwise stated, all reagents were of analytical grade and water was the primary water specified in GB/T 6682.
